In honor of FOP Awareness Day, we are launching an exciting new resource for FOP parents—our FOP Awareness Kits!

Awareness kits are the perfect way to share your FOP journey with your child’s educators, clubs, community groups, places of worship and more.

NEW! In Memoriam Candle Lighting Event on April 30

As we close out FOP Awareness Day, we invite you to participate in a new event—an annual candle lighting to, as a community, honor and remember those we’ve lost to FOP.

Light a candle with us on April 30 to reflect, remember, and celebrate the diverse people and perspectives that make up our community.

We would love to see photos from around the world as we gather in community and remembrance. You can share on social media by tagging IFOPA and/or using #cureFOP.

You can use a candle that is special to you, or In Memoriam candles are available for purchase in the IFOPA Awareness Day Store for those in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In order to receive your candle the In Memoriam Candle Lighting on April 30, you will need to order by Friday, April 4.

Take on a weekly challenge for FOP Awareness Day and make a difference! Whether you complete one challenge or all four (plus the bonus), your efforts help shine a light on FOP.

April 2 – Tell someone new about FOP
April 9 – Hand out 5 awareness cards or bracelets
April 16 – Do a social media post about your connection to FOP
April 23 – Do an act of kindness for someone
Bonus – Do a presentation for your school, club, workplace, place of worship

Share you completing the challenge on social media, tag friends to join, and use #FOPAwarenessDay to spread the word.

If you complete at least three of the weekly challenges, you will receive a commemorative #FOPawareness Ambassador sticker in the mail (even available for international participants). Learn more.

But That’s Not All…

The IFOPA, International Presidents' Council members, and Awareness Day Committee members will be sharing FOP Facts all month long on our social media channels. Like, comment and share on your personal profile to help boost awareness about FOP.

We’ll also be unveiling our 2025 Share My Story videos, featuring a compilation of perspectives from FOP community members and doctors caring for FOP families from around the world.

Finally, each Monday in April, we are excited to bring you a NEW series of events called Global Conversations, where we’ll host weekly discussions with some of our FOP organization leaders from around the world.
